Archeological Vignettes
I just got back from a two-week job in Greece photographing at the site of an archeological dig. The site is the sanctuary of Poseidon on the Isthmus of Corinth. The trip was amazing. I'll be going back and I believe this is the start of a documentary project on archeology. Here are some vignettes from around the site.![]()

Fred R. Conrad
A few nice photos by The Times' Conrad esp. the Christopher Walken shot. I love how flexible and prolific this guy seems to be. In the portrait of Walken I like how he includes the dressing room lights in the shot and fakes the diagetic light with his flash.

Also, just discovered this great NY times interactive feature today also shot by Conrad. Tracking the facades of buildings through recent history:
"Between 1938 and 1943, 700,000 stark black-and-white pictures, known as tax photos, were taken to make property assessments and as a jobs program for the federal Works Progress Administration. In the 1980s, a second set of 800,000 photos was taken, also for tax purposes. In both sets, the property's block and lot number is listed on the photos."
